Approving
and authorizing settlement of a workers compensation claim filed by Michael G.
Sweeney for injuries resulting from an accident on October 22, 2002, while
employed by the City.
BE
IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF KANSAS CITY:
Section
1. That settlement of the claim of Michael G. Sweeney for workers
compensation benefits against the City of Kansas City, Missouri, for any and
all injuries resulting from an accident on October 22, 2002, more fully set
forth in and the subject of Case No. 02-121107 presently pending before the
Missouri Division of Workers Compensation, by payment to Michael G. Sweeney of
the sum of $23,808.40, as recommended by the City Attorney and the Risk Management
Committee, is hereby approved.
Section
2. That the City Attorney is hereby authorized to pay the sum of $23,808.40 in
settlement of the claim from funds heretofore appropriated in the Workers
Compensation Fund - Workers Compensation Claims, Account No.
04-702-013-1540-B.

hereby certify that there is a balance, otherwise unencumbered, to the credit
of the appropriation to which the foregoing expenditure is to be charged, and a
cash balance, otherwise unencumbered, in the treasury, to the credit of the
fund from which payment is to be made, each sufficient to meet the obligation
hereby incurred.
