RESOLUTION NO. 171022

 

Honoring Mr. John Readey on the occasion of his retirement and dedicated service to the Board of Directors of the American Jazz Museum.

 

WHEREAS, John's tireless role as an attorney assisting the Board through a broad set of legal discussions in a variety of matters, and in addition, the commitment of his entire firm, Bryan Cave, was extraordinary in the level of resource investment that they made; and

 

WHEREAS, as the leader of the well-known local musical group, the Counselors, John provided many hours of entertainment to many Kansas Citians including patrons of the Blue Room on occasion.  From this platform, John was very sensitive to the musician community and represented their issues frequently to the Board; and

 

WHEREAS, as the Chair of the Governance Committee for many years, John assisted in maintaining state of the art policies, a pipeline of very qualified Board members, and support for the Board in this capacity; NOW, THEREFORE,

 

BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF KANAS CITY:

 

That the Mayor and Council hereby honor and congratulate Mr. John Readey for his exemplary service to the American Jazz Museum, City of Kansas City, Missouri and its residents; and

 

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that this Resolution be spread upon the Minutes of the Council in testimony thereof, and that a copy hereof be presented to Mr. John Readey in token of the appreciation of the Mayor and Council for his many years of dedicated service and their best wishes for a long and happy retirement which he so richly deserves.
