COMMITTEE SUBSTITUTE FOR ORDINANCE NO. 180292

 

Authorizing an agreement with the Kansas City Area Transportation Authority to provide regular transit services, RideKC Freedom transportation for elderly and disabled residents of Kansas City, and certain specialized services; and authorizing the expenditure of approximately $58,392,317.

 

BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF KANSAS CITY:

 

Section 1. That the Director of Public Works is hereby authorized to enter into an agreement with the Kansas City Area Transportation Authority to provide funding for regular transit services and for the Share-A-Fare program which provides transportation for elderly persons and persons with disabilities and specialized reverse commute transportation services for residents of Kansas City, Missouri, for a period of one year beginning May 1, 2018 through April 30, 2019. A copy of the agreement is on file in the office of the Director of Public Works.

 

Section 2. That the Director of Public Works is hereby authorized to expend an amount not to exceed $58,392,317 from funds previously appropriated to the following accounts in the 2018-2019 Budget and not to exceed the amount of the funds so budgeted:

 

19-2080-692000-F Public Mass Transportation $25,679,118.00

19-2080-692000-F Public Mass Transportation 1,300,000.00

19-2290-692000-B KCATA Sales Tax 31,413,199.00

TOTAL $58,392,317.00

I hereby certify that there is a balance, otherwise unencumbered, to the credit of the appropriation to which the foregoing expenditure is to be charged, and a cash balance, otherwise unencumbered, in the treasury, to the credit of the fund from which payment is to be made, each sufficient to meet the obligation hereby incurred.
