ORDINANCE NO. 060173

 

Authorizing the Director of City Development to convey certain personal property to Clay County and Jefferson City.

 

WHEREAS, the City has the authority to dispose of its personal property for any public or municipal purpose pursuant to Section 1((8) of the Charter; and

WHEREAS, the United States of America, through the Secretary of the Air Force, donated to the City certain equipment after the closure of the air force base at Richards Gebaur; and

 

WHEREAS, the City desires to donate certain avionic equipment not needed by the City to area airports for their use in providing services to the public; NOW, THEREFORE,

 

BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF KANSAS CITY:

 

Section 1. That, notwithstanding the provisions of Section 2-1843 of the Code of Ordinances, the Director of City Development is authorized to execute bills of sale for certain personal property listed below, which is not needed by the City, to Clay County, Missouri and Jefferson City, Missouri, for their use for public purposes at their respective airports:

 

Clay County Regional Airport

two 8X12 Ft. aluminum shelters

Wilcox MK-10 transmitter

antenna array

jet fuel truck

 

Jefferson City Memorial Airport

CW-1003 Automatic Terminal Information Service (ATIS) unit

reel-to-reel tape recording system to provide communication between ATC facilities and aircraft

 

Section 2. That the bills of sale accepted by Clay County, Missouri and Jefferson City, Missouri respectively, will be subject to the condition that if either entity sells or disposes of the property within 5 years of the date of the bill of sale, the purchase price, less the costs of sale and costs of any improvements to the property, shall be paid to the City.
