ORDINANCE NO. 180341

 

Authorizing a $2,986,555.00 construction contract with Pyramid Excavation and Construction, Inc., for the Diversion Structures 065 and 073 Consolidation project; authorizing a maximum expenditure of $3,300,000.00; authorizing a $220,000.00 Design Professional Services Amendment No. 1 to Contract No. 1356 with Taliaferro & Browne, Inc., for the Diversion Structures 065 and 073 Consolidation project; and recognizing this ordinance as having an accelerated effective date.

 

BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF KANSAS CITY:

 

Section 1. That the City Manager is authorized to execute Contract No. 1453 in the amount of $2,986,555.00 with Pyramid Excavation and Construction, Inc., for the Diversion Structures 065 and 073 Consolidation project, Project No. 81000680.  A copy of this contract is on file in the office of Water Services.

 

Section 2. That the Director of Water Services is authorized a maximum expenditure of $3,300,000.00 from Account No. AL-8188-807769-B-611060-81000680, Overflow Control Program, to satisfy the cost of the contract.

 

Section 3. That the City Manager is authorized to execute Design Professional Services Amendment No. 1 to Contract No. 1356 in the amount of $220,000.00, for a total contract amount of $383,000.00, with Taliaferro & Browne, Inc. for the Diversion Structures 065 and 073 Consolidation project, Project No. 81000680.  A copy of this contract is on file in the office of Water Services.

 

Section 4. That the Director of Water Services is authorized to expend up to $220,000.00 from Account No. AL-8188-807769-B-611040-81000680, Overflow Control Program, to satisfy the cost of the amendment.

 

Section 5. That this ordinance, relating to the design, repair, maintenance or construction of a public improvement, is recognized as an ordinance with an accelerated effective date as provided by Section 503(a)(3)(D) of the City Charter and shall take effect in accordance with Section 503, City Charter.
