RESOLUTION NO. 920447

Amending the Downtown East Area Plan to modify the land use recommendations.

WHEREAS, the Downtown East Area Plan was approved by Resolution No. 49636 on October 19, 1978, for that area generally located between I-70 and 23rd Street from Troost to I-70; and

WHEREAS, the Downtown East Area Plan was amended by Resolution No. 63757 on April 13, 1989; and

WHEREAS, the Downtown East Area Plan was further amended by Resolution No. 920054 adopted February 13, 1992; and

WHEREAS, it is the intention of the City Development Department to reflect the modifications herein in the land use plan recommended by the Washington-Wheatley plan; and

WHEREAS, the City Development Department has recommended certain modifications to the Downtown East Area Plan, specifically affecting the land use recommendations in an area bounded by 18th Street on the north, 19th Terrace on the south, Agnes on the west and Walrond on the east; NOW, THEREFORE,

BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF KANSAS CITY:

Section 1. That the Downtown East Area Plan is hereby amended by repealing the land use recommendations specifically for that area bounded by 18th Street on the north, 19th Terrace on the south, Agnes on the west and Walrond on the east.

Section 2. That, in all other respects, the Downtown East Area Plan, as amended, remains in full force and effect.

Section 3. That the Council finds and declares that before taking any action on the proposed plan, all public notices and hearings required by law have been given and had.
