RESOLUTION NO. 001690

 

Authorizing an application to the Missouri Development Finance Board (MDFB) for the state tax credits in the amount not to exceed $800,000.00 to assist with the construction of the Kemper Parking Garage on approximately 4-acre tract generally located at the northwest corner of American Royal Drive and Genessee Street.

 

WHEREAS, the Council adopted Resolution No. 001288 which directed the City Manager to develop a financing plan in the approximate amount of $20,000,000.00 for the purpose of constructing a public parking facility with connections to Kemper Arena (the Garage Project) in conjunction with the development plans of Butler Manufacturing Company national headquarters and National Farms; and

 

WHEREAS, the Council adopted Resolution No. 001437 which directed the Director of City Development to execute a cooperative agreement with the Planned Industrial Expansion Authority of Kansas City for the development of a public parking facility with connections to Kemper Arena; NOW, THEREFORE,

 

BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF KANSAS CITY:

 

Section 1. That the Council authorizes an application in the amount not to exceed $800,000.00 to the Missouri Development Finance Board through State Tax Credit for Contribution Program to assist with the construction of the Kemper Parking Garage on approximately 4-acre tract generally located at the northwest corner of American Royal Drive and Genessee.

 

Section 2. That the Council states that the proposed Kemper Parking Garage will benefit the citizens of Kansas City, Missouri.
