ORDINANCE NO. 130663

 

Reducing the Contingent Appropriation in the General Fund by $60,000.00 and appropriating it to the Neighborhoods and Housing Services Department to assist with costs associated with the rehabilitation of vacant properties.

 

WHEREAS, in order to encourage the rehabilitation of vacant properties within the City of Kansas City, Missouri, the funding from this pilot program will allow Neighborhoods and Housing Services to issue vouchers to property owners who are rehabilitating vacant properties within designated targeted areas to cover the costs of certain City fees such as building permits, water and sewer service connection fees and trash removal; and

 

WHEREAS, the impacted departments will be reimbursed for the fees with the funding authorized by this ordinance; NOW, THEREFORE,

 

BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF KANSAS CITY:

Section 1. That the appropriation in the following account of the General Fund is hereby reduced by the following amount:

14-1000-179990-B Contingent Appropriation $60,000.00

Section 2. That $60,000 is appropriated from the Unappropriated Fund Balance of the General Fund to the following account:

 

14-1000-572369-B Vacant Property Rehabilitation $60,000.00

I hereby certify that there is a balance, otherwise unencumbered, to the credit of the appropriation to which the foregoing expenditure is to be charged, and a cash balance, otherwise unencumbered, in the treasury, to the credit of the fund from which payment is to be made, each sufficient to meet the obligation hereby incurred.
