ORDINANCE NO. 961241

Authorizing the Director of the Neighborhood and Community Services Department and the Director of the Fire Department to enter into a Memorandum of Understanding with Jackson County, Missouri to participate in the County's Drug Abatement Response Team Program, and authorizing the Director of the Finance Department to accept funds in the amount of $96,000.00 from the Interdisciplinary Task Force Grant for this purpose; reducing revenue estimates and appropriations; increasing appropriations; and re-estimating revenue.

BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF KANSAS CITY:

Section 1. That the revenue estimates in the following accounts of the Police Drug Enforcement Fund be reduced by the following amounts

97-234-012-7819 95 Cty Cont-Police Drug Enforcement - (DART) $ 60,000.00 97-234-012-8058 95 Interdisciplinary Task Force - (DART) 5,000.00 TOTAL $ 65,000.00

Section 2. That the revenue estimates in the following accounts of the Police Drug Enforcement Fund are hereby re-estimated by the following amounts:

97-234-057-8064 96 Interdisciplinary Task Force - (DART) $ 46,469.00 97-234-057-8065 97 Interdisciplinary Task Force - (DART) 58,500.00 TOTAL $104,969.00

Section 3. That the appropriation in the following account of the Police Drug Enforcement Fund be increased by the following amount:

97-234-057-2315-A N&CS Interdisciplinary Task Force 96 - (DART) $ 30,000.00

Section 4. That the appropriation in the following account of the Police Drug Enforcement Fund be decreased by the following amount:

97-234-057-2316-A N&CS Interdisciplinary Task Force 97 - (DART) $ 1,500.00

Section 5. That the appropriation in the following account of the Police Drug Enforcement Fund be increased by the following amount:

97-234-023-2313-A Fire Dept. Interdis. Task Force 95 - (DART) $ 475.00

Section 6. That the appropriation in the following account of the Police Drug Enforcement Fund be increased by the following amount:

97-234-021-2659-A Police Dept. Interdis. Task Force 96 - (DART) $ 10,994.00

Section 7. That the Director of the Neighborhood and Community Services Department, on behalf of Kansas City, is hereby authorized to execute a Memorandum of Understanding with Jackson County, Missouri to provide a housing inspector to participate in the DART Program as specified in the Memorandum of Understanding which shall be in substantial form as Exhibit 1 Attached to this ordinance.

Section 8. That the Director of the Fire Department, on behalf of Kansas City, is hereby authorized to execute a Memorandum of Understanding with Jackson County, Missouri to provide a fire inspector to participate in the DART Program as specified in the Memorandum of Understanding which shall be in substantial form as Exhibit 1 Attached to this ordinance.

Section 9. That the Director of the Finance Department, on behalf of Kansas City, is hereby authorized to accept payment from Jackson County, Missouri, for the services the City provides to the DART Program as set forth in the Memorandum of Understanding which shall be in substantial form as Exhibit 1 Attached to this ordinance.

I hereby certify that there is a balance, otherwise unencumbered, to the credit of the appropriation to which the foregoing expenditure is to be charged, and a cash balance from which payment is to be made, each sufficient to meet the obligation hereby incurred.
