ORDINANCE NO. 150900

 

Approving the Kansas City Register nomination (H/O Overlay) to expand the “Nelle E. Peters Thematic District” to include the properties located at 4728, 4730 and 4734 Summit Street as required by Chapter 88-580-01-E of the Administrative Code of the City of Kansas City, Missouri.

 

BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF KANSAS CITY:

 

Section 1. That the properties at 4728, 4730 and 4734 Summit Street are hereby designated for inclusion in the Kansas City Register of Historic Places (H/O Overlay) as part of an expansion of the Nelle E. Peters Thematic District which was designated on August 17, 1989 by Second Committee Substitute for Ordinance No. 64377, As Amended.

 

Section 2. That the location is more specifically described as follows: All Lots 56 through 59, Penn Park.

 

Section 3. That the Historic Preservation Commission recommended approval of the expansion of the ‘Nelle E. Peters Thematic Historic District’ to include the properties at 4728-34 Summit Street noting that they exemplify the architectural and aesthetic characteristics of the works of prominent female architect Nelle E. Peters and are historically significant.

 

Section 4. That the City Plan Commission recommended approval of the nomination.

 

Section 5. Therefore, the City Council approves the inclusion in the Kansas City Register of Historic Places (H/O Overlay) of the properties at 4728, 4730 and 4734 Summit Street as part of an expansion of the Nelle E. Peters Thematic District.
