RESOLUTION NO. 070542

Honoring Regina Chandler and extending to her the appreciation, gratitude and respect for her work on behalf of Mayor Barnes and the City of Kansas City, Missouri.

WHEREAS, Regina Chandler began working for Mayor Barnes on April 10, 1999. Regina had been assistant to Councilwoman Aggie Stackhaus before joining the Mayors staff; and

WHEREAS, Regina has had a number of responsibilities as assistant to the Mayor. She has worked on several initiatives, most notably with the 311 Oversight Committee and the Action Center 3-1-1 project which has provided residents with an easy and efficient means of gaining responses to requests for City services and the reporting and resolution of problems related to the City. The introduction of 3-1-1 has provided citizens an easy and utilitarian method for getting help in an efficient manner. The 3-1-1 Action Center also provides accurate data on the operations of City services to City management and the respective policy makers which assist them in making budgetary and management decisions; and

WHEREAS, Regina Chandler worked on several initiatives and special projects for the Mayor, including efforts to control unscrupulous/predatory lending practices, ServiceFirst, the Downtown Community Task Force which has focused on establishing a community center for people who are homeless. Regina also has worked with the Health Department and has been the Mayors liaison to the Ryan White Title I Grant and Planning Council; most recently, Regina has taken care of the Mayors scheduling; NOW, THEREFORE,

BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF KANSAS CITY:

That the Mayor and Council do hereby honor Regina Chandler and extend to her their appreciation, gratitude and respect for her work on behalf of Mayor Barnes and the City of Kansas City, Missouri; and

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that this Resolution be spread upon the Minutes of the Council in testimony thereof and that a copy hereof be presented to Regina Chandler with appropriate recognition and appreciation.
