ORDINANCE NO. 940555

Authorizing the Director of Health to enter into an agreement with the Swope Parkway Health Center whereby it will provide case management services to persons with HIV/AIDS for one year beginning April 1, 1994, for which the City will provide $35,000.00 in previously appropriated funding, and recognizing an emergency.

BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF KANSAS CITY:

Section 1. That the Director of Health is hereby authorized to enter into an agreement with the Swope Parkway Health Center, whereby the Center will provide case management services to persons with HIV/AIDS, for the period of April 1, 1994 through March 31, 1995, under the Ryan White Title II Care Act Services, for which the City will pay an amount not to exceed $35,000.00 in funds previously appropriated in Account No. 95-100-050-2421B by Ordinance No. 940326. A copy of the agreement is attached hereto and made a part hereof by reference.

Section 2. That this ordinance, making provision for the expenditure of funds in connection with the preservation of the public health, is recognized as an emergency measure within the provisions of Article II, Section 15 of the Charter of Kansas City, Missouri, and shall take effect immediately upon passage.

I hereby certify that there is a balance, otherwise unencumbered, to the credit of the appropriation to which the foregoing expenditure is to be charged, and a cash balance, otherwise unencumbered, in the treasury, to the credit of the fund from which payment is to be made, each sufficient to meet the obligation hereby incurred.
