ORDINANCE NO. 940659

Authorizing the Director of Health to enter into an agreement with the University of Kansas Medical Center whereby it will provide an outpatient clinic service coordinator for persons with HIV/AIDS for one year beginning April 1, 1994, for which the City will provide $43,500.00 in previously appropriated funding, and recognizing an emergency.

BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF KANSAS CITY:

Section 1. That the Director of Health is hereby authorized to enter into an agreement with the University of Kansas Medical Center, acting through its Director, to provide an outpatient clinic service coordinator for persons with HIV/AIDS, for the period April 1, 1994 to March 31, 1995, under the Ryan White Title I Formula Grant, in an amount of $43,500.00, previously appropriated in Account No. 94-273-050-2440-B, by Ordinance No. 940052. A copy of said agreement is attached hereto and made a part hereof by reference.

Section 2. That this ordinance, making provision for the expenditure of funds in connection with the preservation of the public health, is recognized as an emergency measure within the provisions of Article II, Section 15 of the Charter of Kansas City, Missouri, and shall take effect immediately upon passage.

I hereby certify that there is a balance, otherwise unencumbered, to the credit of the appropriation to which the foregoing expenditure is to be charged, and a cash balance, otherwise unencumbered, in the treasury, to the credit of the fund from which payment is to be made, each sufficient to meet the obligation hereby incurred.
