ORDINANCE NO. 020271

 

Authorizing the Director of Environmental Management to enter into a three month contract with Scientific Recycling, Inc., beginning February 12, 2002, to provide appliance processing services at a fixed rate but not to exceed a total of $66,900.00 to be paid from previously appropriated funds; to extend the contract an additional nine months at the same rate but not to exceed $200,600.00 subject to the appropriation of sufficient funds; and thereafter to extend the contract for one additional one-year term at the same rate, but not to exceed $267,500.00 for that year subject to the appropriation of sufficient funds.

 

BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF KANSAS CITY:

 

Section 1. That the Director of Environmental Management is hereby authorized, on behalf of the City, to enter into and execute a fourth contract amendment with Scientific Recycling, Inc., whereby the contractor will provide appliance processing services, at the rate of $17.25 per unit for refrigerant and compressor removal and processing and $11.00 per unit for electric motor removal, for three months beginning February 12, 2002, and to expend therefor an amount not to exceed $66,900.00 from funds previously appropriated to Account No. 02-100-085-2304-B.

 

Section 2. That the Director of Environmental Management is also hereby authorized to execute the remaining nine months of the fourth amendment from May 1, 2002 to February 11, 2003, and to expend an amount not to exceed $200,600.00 subject to sufficient funds being appropriated therefor, and thereafter, to extend the contract for one additional year, for an amount not to exceed $267,500.00, subject to sufficient funds being appropriated therefor.

I hereby certify that there is a balance, otherwise unencumbered, to the credit of the appropriation to which the foregoing expenditure is to be charged, and a cash balance, otherwise unencumbered, in the treasury, to the credit of the fund from which payment is to be made, each sufficient to meet the obligation hereby incurred.
