RESOLUTION NO. 180534

 

Amending the Midtown Plaza Area Plan by changing the recommended land use map in an area generally bounded by Ward Parkway on the north, State Line on the west, Troost Avenue on the east and 55th Street on the south, by changing areas designated for residential medium land use to residential low land use. (727-S-8)

 

WHEREAS, an application was submitted by the City Planning and Development Department to amend the Midtown Plaza Area Plan by changing the recommended land use in an area generally bounded by Ward Parkway on the north, State Line on the west, Troost Avenue on the east and 55th Street on the south by changing areas designated for residential medium land use to residential low land use; and

 

WHEREAS, the City Plan Commission considered such amendment to the Proposed Land Use Plan and Map on July 17, 2018; and

 

WHEREAS, after all interested persons were given an opportunity to present testimony, the City Plan Commission did on July 17, 2018, recommend approval of the proposed amendment to the Midtown/Plaza Area Plan; NOW, THEREFORE,

 

BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF KANSAS CITY:

 

Section A. That the Recommended Land Use Map in the Midtown Plaza Area Plan is hereby amended by changing the recommended land use in an area generally bounded by Ward Parkway on the north, State Line on the west, Troost Avenue on the east and 55th Street on the south by changing areas designated for residential medium land use to residential low land use.

 

Section B. That the amendment to the Midtown Plaza Area Plan is consistent and complies with the FOCUS Kansas City Plan adopted on October 30, 1997, by Committee Substitute for Resolution No. 971268, and is adopted as a supplement to the FOCUS Kansas City Plan.

 

Section C. That the Council finds and declares that before taking any action on the proposed area plan amendment hereinabove, all public notices have been given and hearings have been held as required by law.
