COMMITTEE SUBSTITUTE FOR ORDINANCE NO. 170428

 

Authorizing a contract for approximately $3,340,000.00 with J.M. Fahey Construction for the resurfacing of various streets generally from the Missouri River south to Gregory; and recognizing this ordinance as having an accelerated effective date.

 

BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF KANSAS CITY:

 

Section 1. That the Director of Public Works is hereby authorized to execute a contract with J.M. Fahey Construction, in the amount of $3,339,864.55 for the resurfacing of various streets in the 2017-2018 season as shown in Contract 17-2 and the performance of other incidental and related work in Kansas City, Missouri, generally from the Missouri River south to Gregory, from funds previously appropriated to Account No. 18-3090-897701-B-89008533, Street Resurfacing. A copy of the contract is on file in the Public Works Department and is incorporated herein by reference.

 

Section 2. That the Director of Public Works is authorized to enter into contract changes up to and including twenty percent (20%) of the original contract price for related work.

 

Section 3. That this ordinance, relating to the design, repair, maintenance or construction of a public improvement, is recognized as an ordinance with an accelerated effective date as provided by Section 503(a)(3)(D) of the City Charter and shall take effect in accordance with Section 503, City Charter.

 

 

 

I hereby certify that there is a balance, otherwise unencumbered, to the credit of the appropriation to which the foregoing expenditure is to be charged, and a cash balance, otherwise unencumbered, in the treasury, to the credit of the fund from which payment is to be made, each sufficient to meet the obligation hereby incurred.
