RESOLUTION NO. 980297

 

Recognizing and thanking the students of James Elementary School for their efforts in creatively sharing information about Kansas City with other school age children.

 

WHEREAS, the James Blue Owl Publishers did, after careful study, create a wide variety of brochures that highlight the best of Kansas City; and

 

WHEREAS, these brochures were part of a school project, Kids R Kansas City - Fun, Exciting & Cool Things to do, with mentorship from Central City News class at Central Middle School; and

 

WHEREAS, these brochures were entered into the KCTEA Technology Explosion, a metro-wide contest; and

 

WHEREAS, the James Blue Owl Publishers did receive not only the Grand Award and the Judges Award but also 24 additional first, second and third place prizes for their outstanding brochures; and

 

WHEREAS, the James Blue Owl Publishers have given their brochures to the City of Kansas City to be reproduced as the City sees fit for the purpose of sharing information with other school age children in the City; NOW, THEREFORE,

 

BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF KANSAS CITY:

 

That the Mayor and Council hereby recognize and thank the students of James Elementary School, the Central Middle School mentors and the staff of both schools for their outstanding efforts in creatively sharing information about Kansas City with other school age children; and

 

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that this Resolution be spread upon the Minutes of the Council in testimony thereof and that a copy be presented to Mrs. Delores Maxwell on behalf of the students, staff and parents of James Elementary School.
