ORDINANCE NO. 960471
Authorizing agreements with the Samuel U. Rodgers
Community Health Center and the Richard Cabot Club Clinic to provide Women,
Infants and Children (WIC) certification and educational services for a one
year period; expending previously appropriated funds in the amount of
$203,136.00 for said agreements; and recognizing an emergency.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF KANSAS CITY:
Section 1. That an agreement between the Kansas
City, Missouri Health Department, acting through its Director of Health, and
the Samuel U. Rodgers Community Health Center, a Missouri not-for-profit
corporation acting through its Director, whereby the Center will agrees to
provide women, Infants and Children (WIC) certification and educational
services to its clients for a one year period beginning October 1, 1995, for
which the City will provide $132,480.00 in funds previously appropriated to
Account No. 96-272-050-2122 by Ordinance No. 951531, is hereby accepted and
approved. A copy of said agreement, in substantial form, is attached hereto
and made a part hereof by reference.
Section 2. That the agreement between the Kansas
City, Missouri Health Department, acting through its Director of Health, and
the Richard Cabot Club Clinic, a not for profit corporation acting through its
Director, whereby the Clinic agrees to provide Women, Infants and Children
(WIC) certification and educational services to its clients for a one year
period beginning October 1, 1995, for which the City will provide $70,656.00 in
funds previously appropriated to Account No. 96-272-050-2122 by Ordinance No.
951531, is hereby accepted and approved. A copy of said agreement, in
substantial form, is attached hereto and made a part hereof by reference.
Section 3. That this ordinance, making provisions
of funds in connection with the preservation of the public health, is hereby
recognized as an emergency measure within the provisions of Article II, Section
15 of the Charter of the city of Kansas City, Missouri, and shall take effect
immediately upon passage.

I hereby certify that there is a balance, otherwise
unencumbered, to the credit of the appropriation to which the foregoing
expenditure is to be charged, and a cash balance, otherwise unencumbered, in
the treasury, to the credit of the fund from which payment is to be made, each
sufficient to meet the obligation hereby incurred.
