COMMITTEE SUBSTITUTE FOR ORDINANCE NO. 931320
Reducing the Debt Service-HUD account by $25,000.00;
appropriating such sum to Development Assistance-BEU; authorizing the Director
of Housing and Community Development to execute a contract with the Black
Economic Union in the amount of $25,000.00 to provide funds for renovation of
BEU properties in the 18th and Vine area; and approving an amendment to the
CDBG Statement of Objectives.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF KANSAS CITY:
Section 1. That the appropriation in the following
account is hereby reduced by the following amount:
262-055-2401-B Debt Service-HUD
$25,000.00
Section 2. That the sum of $25,000.00 is hereby
appropriated from the Unappropriated Fund Balance of the Community Development
Fund-Year 19 to the following account in said fund:
262-055-2030-B Development Assistance-BEU
$25,000.00
Section 3. That the Director of Housing and
Community Development is hereby authorized to execute a contract with the Black
Economic Union, in the amount by $25,000.00, for the purpose of providing funds
for renovation of BEU properties in the 18th and Vine area, to be paid from
funds herein appropriated to Account No. 262-055-2030-B, Development
Assistance-BEU. A copy of the contract, in substantial form, is attached
hereto and is hereby approved.
Section 4. That an amendment for the Community
Development Block Grant Statement of Objectives and Projected Use of Funds-Year
19, increasing the Development Assistance-BEU by $25,000.00 to $310,000.00 and
decreasing the Debt Service-HUD by $25,000.00 to $2,143,614.00 is hereby
approved.

I hereby certify that there is a balance, otherwise
unencumbered, to the credit of the appropriation to which the foregoing
expenditure is to be charged, and a cash balance, otherwise unencumbered, in
the treasury, to the credit of the fund from which payment is to be made, each
sufficient to meet the obligation hereby incurred.
