RESOLUTION NO. 070498

 

Declaring Bonnie Sue Cooper as Kansas City, Missouris Honorary Ambassador to Mexico.

 

WHEREAS, the City of Kansas City, Missouri, has its global outreach program and enjoys official partnership relationships with cities/organizations in many parts of the world---including Mexico

 

WHEREAS, Kansas City is desirous of an honorary designation for an individual who has performed with excellence and merit for Kansas City; and

 

WHEREAS, the designation is defined as a good-will title that is esteemed and honorary; and

 

WHEREAS, Bonnie Sue Cooper has served as an elected official in the City of Kansa City, Missouri, as a Councilwoman since 1999 and was recognized as a leader on the City Council for international affairs and Mexico promotion, provided leadership for Kansas City Missouris unique Mexico business development program, for trade missions and in general spreading good-will on behalf of the City; and

 

WHEREAS, Bonnie Sue Coopers responsibilities included serving as a champion and good-will advocate for Kansas Citys program with Mexico; NOW, THEREFORE,

 

BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF KANSAS CITY:

 

That the Mayor and Council hereby declare Bonnie Sue Cooper as Kansas City, Missouris Honorary Ambassador to Mexico; and

 

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that this Resolution be spread upon the Minutes of the Council in testimony thereof and that a copy hereof be presented to Bonnie Sue Cooper with the admiration and respect of the Mayor and Council for her accomplishments in creating goodwill and positive relations for Kansas City.
