ORDINANCE NO. 001236

Authorizing a $71,500.00 Amendment 2 to CTE Engineers Inc. for Contract No. 670 System-Wide Grit Removal Phase II Blue River Wastewater Treatment Plant; and authorizing expenditure of funds in the amount of $71,500.00.

WHEREAS, the City Council approved a $552,313.00 appropriation for Contract No. 670 with CTE Engineers Inc. for design of system-wide grit removal Phase II at Blue River Wastewater Treatment Plant by passage of Ordinance No. 990462 on April 8, 1999; and

WHEREAS, a $24,340.00 Amendment 1 to Contract No. 670 was authorized from contingencies provided by Ordinance No. 990462; and

WHEREAS, additional work is required to complete the design of the system-wide grit removal Phase II at Blue River Wastewater Treatment Plant; NOW, THEREFORE,

BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF KANSAS CITY:

Section 1. That the Director of Water Services is hereby authorized to expend up to the sum of $71,500.00 from funds previously appropriated to Account No. 01-811-080-7726-T Sewer Construction to satisfy the cost of additional work to complete Contract No. 670 design of system-wide grit removal at Blue River Wastewater Treatment Plant to be included in the contract by Amendment 2.

I hereby certify that there is a balance, otherwise unencumbered, to the credit of the appropriation to which the foregoing expenditure is to be charged, and a cash balance, otherwise unencumbered, in the treasury, to the credit of the fund from which payment is to be made, each sufficient to meet the obligation hereby incurred.
