ORDINANCE NO. 001413

Adjusting appropriations by $1,490.00 and authorizing its expenditure for the project; authorizing assessment of the costs against the properties benefitted; and recognizing an emergency.

WHEREAS, by Ordinance No. 991534, passed December 16, 1999, the Council authorized a contract with Daniels Construction Company in the amount of $81,602.15 with an authorized expenditure of $101,860.00 in connection with the Winthrope Special Assessment Improvement Project; and

WHEREAS, during the course of the project work, certain latent conditions which have resulted in additional engineering and construction work have come to light; NOW, THEREFORE,

BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF KANSAS CITY:

Section 1. That the appropriation in the Revolving Public Improvement Fund, Account No. 01-319-089-7763-T is hereby reduced in the amount of $1,490.00

Section 2. That the sum of $1,490.00 is appropriated from the Unappropriated Fund Balance of the Revolving Public Improvement Fund to Project Account No. 01-319-089-6417-T.

Section 3. That the Director of Public Works is hereby authorized to expend the following sums for the purposes appropriated:

To Account No. 01-319-089-6417-T the sum of $1,284.00 for construction;

To Account No. 01-319-089-6417-T the sum of $193.00 for engineering and supervision;

To Account No. 01-319-089-6417-T the sum of $13.00 for administration;

Section 4. That since the public improvement provided for herein is to be paid in part by special assessments, this ordinance is recognized to be an emergency measure within the provisions of Article II, Section 15 of the Charter and shall take effect in accordance with said section.

I hereby certify that there is a balance, otherwise unencumbered, to the credit of the appropriation to which the foregoing expenditure is to be charged, and a cash balance, otherwise unencumbered, in the treasury, to the credit of the fund from which payment is to be made, each sufficient to meet the obligation hereby incurred.
