ORDINANCE NO. 100085

 

Approving a $112,070.00 Amendment No. 3 with Taliaferro and Browne, Inc. for Contract No. 053, Project No. 81000597, CID Storm Sewers Phase I; authorizing the Director of Water Services to expend $112,070.00 for this amendment; and authorizing the Director of Finance to return unexpended appropriations to the appropriate account.

WHEREAS, the City Council approved Ordinance No. 021229 on October 17, 2002, approving a $302,963.00 contract with Taliaferro and Browne, Inc. for the CID Storm Sewers Phase I project for Contract No. 053; and

WHEREAS, the City Council approved Ordinance No. 041405 on December 14, 2004, approving a $447,248.91 Amendment No. 1 to add additional construction phase services to this project, and Ordinance No. 080727 on July 24, 2008, approving a $9,900.00 Amendment No. 2 to revise the plans and specifications to reflect further alternatives and additional bid phase services assistance; and

WHEREAS, this Amendment 3 is needed on the design professional project for construction phase services for completion of the CID Storm Sewers Phase I project; NOW, THEREFORE,

BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF KANSAS CITY:

Section 1. That the Director of Water Services is authorized to execute, on behalf of Kansas City, a $112,070.00 Amendment No. 3 to Contract No. 053, Project No. 81000597, CID Storm Sewers Phase I. A copy of this amendment is on file in the office of the Director of Water Services.

 

Section 2. That the Director of Water Services is authorized to expend up to the sum of $112,070.00, from funds previously appropriated to Account No. AL-8179-808082-B, Water & Sewer CD2, to satisfy the cost of this contract amendment.

 

Section 3. That upon completion of this contract, the Director of Finance is hereby authorized to return the unexpended portion of this appropriation to the Unappropriated Fund Balance from which it was derived.

I hereby certify that there is a balance, otherwise unencumbered, to the credit of the appropriation to which the foregoing expenditure is to be charged, and a cash balance, otherwise unencumbered, in the treasury, to the credit of the fund from which payment is to be made, each sufficient to meet the obligation hereby incurred.
