RESOLUTION

Recognizing and honoring the
American Red Cross in Kansas City, Missouri and paying tribute to the sacrifice
and efforts of the American Red Cross’ endless support and aid to First
Responders.
WHEREAS,
since it was founded, on May 21, 1881, the American Red Cross determinedly
carries out their mission to prevent and alleviate human suffering in the face
of emergencies through compassionate care by its strong network of volunteers
and donors; and
WHEREAS,
through their five key service areas of disaster relief, supporting military
families, blood donations, health and safety services, as well as international
services, the American Red Cross works tirelessly to relieve strife in the
community; and
WHEREAS,
with recent events of hurricanes, forest fires, and other natural disasters
across the country, the American Red Cross has continuously been at the side of
first responders, providing food, water, and free assistance to first
responders as they combat disastrous times in the community and help heal the
communities effected; and
WHEREAS,
the American Red Cross aims to inspire and aid first responders as they serve
communities in dire times and work to overcome the tragedies; NOW, THEREFORE,
BE
IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF KANSAS CITY:
That the Mayor and Council hereby honor the American Red
Cross in their endless efforts to aid first responders; and
BE
IT FURTHER RESOLVED that this Resolution be spread upon the Minutes of the
Council in testimony thereof and that a copy be presented to the American Red
Cross, with the Mayor and Council encouraging all citizens of Kansas City to
join in honoring the American Red Cross and its efforts.
