ORDINANCE NO. 120413
Adopting and authorizing the execution of the Collective
Bargaining Agreement with Local 42, I.A.F.F.
WHEREAS, Local 42, of
the International Association of Fire Fighters, AFL-CIO-CLC, is recognized by
the City as the exclusive bargaining unit representing all Fire Fighters, Fire
Apparatus Operators, Captains, Communication Specialists, Fire Prevention Inspectors,
Investigators, Education Specialists, Emergency Medical Technicians, Emergency
Response Vehicle Technicians, Medical Supply Technicians, Paramedics and all
other uniformed employees employed by the City in the Fire Department in all
divisions in all ranks equal to or below the rank of Captain; and
WHEREAS, the
designated representatives of the City and Local 42 have met, conferred and
discussed certain issues involving salaries and other conditions of employment
and have reached tentative agreement on those issues; and
WHEREAS, the
designated representatives of the City and Local 42 have tentatively agreed
upon all of the provisions as set forth in a Collective Bargaining Agreement to
be in force for the period beginning May 1, 2012 through April 26, 2015 at 6:59
a.m.; and
WHEREAS, a majority
of the membership of Local 42, I.A.F.F., have ratified this Collective
Bargaining Agreement; and
WHEREAS, Section
105.520, Revised Statutes of Missouri, requires that the results of the
discussions be reduced to writing and submitted to the appropriate body for
adoption, modification or rejection; NOW, THEREFORE,
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF
KANSAS CITY:
Section 1. That
the Collective Bargaining Agreement between the City and Local 42, I.A.F.F.,
for the period beginning May 1, 2012 through April 26, 2015, at 6:59 a.m., is
hereby adopted. A copy of the Collective Bargaining Agreement is attached
hereto and made a part hereof.
Section 2. That
the City Manager is hereby authorized to execute the above Collective
Bargaining Agreement on behalf of the City.
