RESOLUTION NO. 200123

 

Approving an amendment to the Country Club/Waldo Area Plan on about 0.9 acres generally located southwest of the intersection of Ward Parkway and W. 79th Street by changing the future land use from commercial with Pedestrian Oriented Design focus to residential low.

 

WHEREAS, on February 22, 2018, the City Council by Resolution No. 180106 adopted the Country Club/Waldo Area Plan as a guide for development and redevelopment of that area generally bounded by 55th Street on the north, the Paseo Boulevard and Troost Avenue on the east, 85th Street on the south, and State Line Road on the west; and

 

WHEREAS, on November 29, 2018, the City Council by Resolution No. 180896 further amended the Country Club/Waldo Area Plan; and

 

WHEREAS, after all interested persons were given an opportunity to present testimony, the City Plan Commission did on ___________, recommend approval of the proposed amendment to the Country Club/ Waldo Area Plan; NOW, THEREFORE,

 

BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF KANSAS CITY:

 

Section A. That the Country Club/Waldo Area Plan is hereby amended by changing the recommended land use on about 0.9 acres generally located at southwest of the intersection of Ward Parkway and W. 79th Street from commercial with Pedestrian Oriented Design focus to residential low, and specifically described as follows:

 

Parcel 1: Home Gardens Add Lot 27 & N 1/2 Lot 28 exc prt in 79th St & exc prt ly n & w of a li rng fr a pt 73.52 ft e of nw cor Lot 27 to a pt on w li Lot 28 which is 111.95 ft s of nw cor Lot 27.

 

Parcel 2: S 1/2 Lot 28 Home Gardens Add.

 

Parcel 3: N 1/2 Lot 29 Home Gardens Add.

 

Parcel 4: S 1/2 Lot 29 Home Gardens Add.

 

Parcel 5: N 1/2 Lot 30 Home Gardens Add.

 

Parcel 6: S 1/2 Lot 30 Home Gardens Add.

 

A copy of the amendment to the Country Club/Waldo Area Plan is attached hereto as Exhibit A and is incorporated herein by reference.


Section B. That the amendment to the Country Club/Waldo Area Plan is consistent and complies with the FOCUS Kansas City Plan adopted on October 30, 1997, by Committee Substitute for Resolution No. 971268, and is adopted as a supplement to the FOCUS Kansas City Plan.

 

Section C. That the Council finds and declares that before taking any action on the proposed area plan amendment hereinabove, all public notices have been given and hearings have been held as required by law.
