ORDINANCE NO. 941513

Authorizing the Director of Health to enter into an agreement with the Kansas City Free Health Clinic whereby the Clinic will target marketing, information dissemination and referral services towards HIV+ men who are at high risk for transmitting the HIV virus for four months beginning November 1, 1994, for which the City will provide $32,150.00 in previously appropriated funds; and recognizing an emergency.

BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF KANSAS CITY:

Section 1. That an agreement between the City of Kansas City, Missouri, acting through the Director of Health, and the Kansas City Free Health Clinic, acting through its Executive Director, whereby the Clinic will target marketing, information dissemination and referral services toward HIV+ men who are at high risk for transmitting the HIV virus, for a period of four months beginning November 1, 1994, for which the City will provide $32,150.00 in funds previously appropriated to Account No. 95-273-050-2445-B by Ordinance No. 940558, is hereby authorized and approved. A copy of said agreement is attached hereto and made a part hereof by reference.

Section 2. That this ordinance, making provisions for the expenditure of funds in connection with the preservation of the public health, is hereby recognized as an emergency measure within the provisions of Article II, Section 15 of the Charter of the City of Kansas City, Missouri, and shall take effect immediately upon passage.

I hereby certify that there is a balance, otherwise unencumbered, to the credit of the appropriation to which the foregoing expenditure is to be charged, and a cash balance, otherwise unencumbered, in the treasury, to the credit of the fund from which payment is to be made, each sufficient to meet the obligation hereby incurred.
