RESOLUTION
NO. 180320
Honoring the life and many
contributions of Teresa Ann (“Teri”) Rogers.
WHEREAS, Teri
was a daughter of Wichita, Kansas and graduate of the University of Kansas, but
her impact in Kansas City, Missouri and throughout our nation has been felt for
decades and continues to inspire scores of women, small businesses, entrepreneurs,
and creative professionals; and
WHEREAS, since
1998, Teri has served a leading role in the firm now known as Hint, which from
its headquarters in Kansas City’s Crossroads Arts District, is a national
leader in digital storytelling, offering to companies production, motion
design, multidimensional character animation, and interactive design; and
WHEREAS, her
success at her firm and her vision led to numerous accolades from national and
local quarters, including the United States Small Business Administration, the
Greater Kansas City Chamber of Commerce, our Economic Development Corporation,
and the Downtown Council of Kansas City; and
WHEREAS, Teri
gave her heart not only to her business, but also to our community,
volunteering her time to the Crossroads Community Association, the Kansas City
Streetcar Authority, the Arts Council of Kansas City, the Economic Development
Corporation, the Kansas City Film Commission, and the Missouri Motion Media
Association; and
WHEREAS, among
her greatest successes were the children she raised in Kansas City, Marissa and
Richard, and the love she shared with her husband, Martin; NOW, THEREFORE,
BE IT
RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF KANAS CITY:
That the Mayor and Council hereby honor the
life and contributions of Teresa Ann Rogers for her exemplary service,
philanthropy and leadership to the
City of Kansas City, Missouri and its
residents; and
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that this Resolution be spread upon the Minutes
of
the Council in testimony thereof, and that a copy hereof be presented to the
family of Ms. Rogers in
token of the appreciation of the Mayor and Council for her many years of
dedicated service to our community and in recognition of the profound
impact she had on our community.
