ORDINANCE NO. 980317
Accepting and approving a one year $562,000.00
contract with the Missouri Department of Natural Resources to provide funding
for the City to continue clean air compliance with Air Pollution Control
Regulations; increasing revenue and appropriation accounts in the amount of
$55,000.00; designating requisitioning authority; and recognizing an emergency.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF
KANSAS CITY:
Section 1. That a contract between
the City of Kansas City, Missouri, acting through its Director of Health, and
the Missouri Department of Natural Resources, acting through its Director,
whereby the State will provide $562,000.00 in funds to enable the City to
continue clean air compliance with Air Pollution Control Regulations for one
year beginning October 1, 1997 through September 30, 1998, is hereby accepted
and approved. The contract shall substantially conform to the copy which is
attached hereto and made a part hereof by reference.
Section 2. That the revenue in the
following account of the General Fund is hereby increased by the following
amount:
98-100-050-8532 Miscellaneous
Non-Revenue $55,000.00
Section 3. That the sum of
$55,000.00 is hereby appropriated from the Unappropriated Fund Balance of the
General Fund to the following accounts in the General Fund:
98-100-050-2231-B Air Quality
Education Project $50,000.00
98-100-050-2231-C Air Quality
Education Project 5,000.00
TOTAL $55,000.00
Section 4. That the Director of
Health is hereby designated as requisitioning authority for Account No.
98-100-050-2231.
Section 5. This ordinance, making
provision for the expenditure of funds in connection with the preservation of
the public health, is hereby recognized as an emergency measure within the
provisions of Section 15, Article II of the Charter of the City of Kansas City,
Missouri, and shall take effect immediately upon passage.

I hereby certify that there is a
balance, otherwise unencumbered, to the credit of the appropriation to which
the foregoing expenditure is to be charged, and a cash balance, otherwise unencumbered,
in the treasury, to the credit of the fund from which payment is to be made,
each sufficient to meet the obligation hereby incurred.
