RESOLUTION NO. 190879

 

Approving an amendment to the Midtown Plaza Area Plan to change the recommended land use for about one acre generally located on the east side of Broadway Boulevard between West 37th Street to the north and West 38th Street to the south from residential medium high and residential low to mixed use community. (CD-CPC-2019-00004)

 

WHEREAS, an application was submitted to amend the Midtown Plaza Area Plan by changing the recommended land use for about one acre generally located on the east side of Broadway Boulevard between West 37th Street to the north and West 38th Street to the south from residential medium high and residential low to mixed use community; and

 

WHEREAS, the City Plan Commission considered such amendment to the Land Use Plan and Map on September 3, 2019; and

 

WHEREAS, after all interested persons were given an opportunity to present testimony, the City Plan Commission did on September 3, 2019, recommend approval of the proposed amendment to the Midtown Plaza Area Plan; NOW, THEREFORE,

 

BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF KANSAS CITY:

 

Section A. That the Recommended Land Use Map in the Midtown Plaza Area Plan is hereby amended by changing the recommended land use for about one acre generally located on the east side of Broadway Boulevard between West 37th Street to the north and West 38th Street to the south from residential medium high and residential low to mixed use community.

 

Section B. That the amendment to the Midtown Plaza Area Plan is consistent and complies with the FOCUS Kansas City Plan adopted on October 30, 1997, by Committee Substitute for Resolution 971268, and is adopted as a supplement to the FOCUS Kansas City Plan.

 

Section C. That the Council finds and declares that before taking any action on the proposed area plan amendment hereinabove, all public notices have been given and hearings have been held as required by law.
