ORDINANCE NO. 930075

 

Amending the current contract between the Kansas City, Missouri Health Department and the Samuel U. Rodgers Health Center, whereby the City will provide $9,000.00 in additional previously appropriated funding to allow the Center to purchase additional supplies and materials and provide additional HIV/AIDS education and risk reduction services, thus increasing the total amount for the one-year contract, which ends February 28, 1993, from $26,000.00 to $35,000.00, and recognizing an emergency.

 

BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF KANSAS CITY:

 

Section 1. That the current one-year contract between the Kansas City, Missouri Health Department and the Samuel U. Rodgers Health Center, which ends February 28, 1993, is hereby amended in that the City will provide $9,000.00 in additional funding from funds previously appropriated in Account No. 100-050-2420-B, AIDS Education & Testing Program, which will be utilized by the Center to purchase additional supplies and materials and provide additional HIV/AIDS education and risk reduction services, thus increasing the total amount for the contract from $26,000.00 to $35,000.00. A copy of the amended contract which more specifically sets out the expanded scope of work to be performed by the Center is attached hereto and made a part hereof by reference.

 

Section 2. That this ordinance, making provision for the expenditure of funds in connection with the preservation of the public health, is recognized as an emergency measure within the provisions of Article II, Section 15 of the Charter of Kansas City, Missouri, and shall take effect immediately upon passage.

I hereby certify that there is a balance, otherwise unencumbered, to the credit of the appropriation to which the foregoing expenditure, is to be charged, and a cash balance, otherwise unencumbered, in the treasury to the credit of the fund from which payment is to be made, each sufficient to meet the obligation hereby incurred.
