ORDINANCE NO. 930435
Authorizing the Director of Health to enter into an
agreement with the Swope Parkway Health Center whereby the Center will provide
medical care for the indigent for one year beginning May 1, 1993, for which the
City will pay $538,817.00 from previously appropriated funds, providing for the
cost of administering the agreement, and recognizing an emergency.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF KANSAS CITY:
Section 1. That the Director of Health is hereby
authorized to enter into an agreement, on behalf of the City, with the Swope
Parkway Health Center, a Missouri not-for-profit corporation, whereby the
Center will provide medical care for the City's indigent for one year beginning
May 1, 1993, for which the City will pay $538,817.00 from funds provided in the
1993-94 Budget Ordinance No. 930319 in the following accounts and amounts:
100-051-2130-B Health Centers
$185,428.00 233-051-2130-F Health Centers $353,389.00
A copy of the agreement is attached hereto and made a
part hereof by reference.
Section 2. That the amount of $16,165.00, as
specified in the agreement, may be retained by the Health Department to
partially offset the cost of administering the agreement and may be used in
such manner and for such purposes as the Director of Health may determine.
Section 3. That this ordinance, making
provisions for the expenditure of funds in connection with the preservation of
the public health, is recognized as an emergency measure within the provisions
of Article II, Section 15 of the Charter of the City of Kansas City, Missouri,
and shall take effect immediately upon passage.

I hereby certify that there is a balance, otherwise
unencumbered, to the credit of the appropriation to which the foregoing
expenditure, is to be charged, and a cash balance, otherwise unencumbered, in
the treasury to the credit of the fund from which payment is to be made, each
sufficient to meet the obligation hereby incurred.
