ORDINANCE NO. 990388

 

Appropriating the sum of $258,159.00 to complete Contract 583 Birmingham Land Application Facility Sealing of Sludge Lagoon No. 2.

 

WHEREAS, the City Council passed Ordinance No. 980147 on February 19, 1998, approving Contract 583 with Environmental Management Corp. Inc. in the amount of $886,036.60 for sealing of Sludge Lagoon 2 at the Birmingham Land Application Facility; and

 

WHEREAS, additional funds in the amount of $258,159.00 are required to complete the work; NOW, THEREFORE,

 

BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF KANSAS CITY:

 

Section 1. That the balance in Account No. 98-819-080-7791-T Sewers is hereby reduced by the sum of $258,159.00.

 

Section 2. That the sum of $258,159.00 is hereby appropriated from the Unappropriated Fund Balance of the 1997 SRF Sewer Revenue Bond Fund 819 to the following account:

 

99-819-080-7186-T Birmingham WWTP Lagoon 2 $258,159.00

 

Section 3. That the Director of Water Services is hereby authorized to expend up to the sum of $258,159.00 from funds appropriated above to complete Contract 583 to be included in the original contract by change order.

 

Section 4. That upon completion of the final costs of this contract the Director of Finance is hereby directed to return the unexpended portion of this appropriation to the Unappropriated Fund Balance from which it was derived.

I hereby certify that there is a balance, otherwise unencumbered, to the credit of the appropriation to which the foregoing expenditure is to be charged, and a cash balance, otherwise unencumbered, in the treasury, to the credit of the fund from which payment is to be made, each sufficient to meet the obligation hereby incurred.
