RESOLUTION NO. 971416

 

Amending the Winchester Land Use and Development Plan by amending the Proposed Land Use Plan and Map for an area generally located at the northwest corner of 66th Street and Winchester Avenue by changing the land use designation from "low density residential uses" to "limited redevelopment with specific guidelines".

 

WHEREAS, on October 28, 1993, the City Council by Resolution No. 931166, adopted the Winchester Land Use and Development Plan being the Plan for development and redevelopment of that area bounded by 59th Street on the north, 67th Street on the south, James A. Reed Road on the east and K.C. Southern Railroad on the west; and

 

WHEREAS, after further review by the City Development Department, it has been deemed appropriate to amend the Winchester Land Use and Development Plan as it affects that certain area generally located at the northwest corner of 66th Street and Winchester Avenue by modifying the Proposed Land Use Plan and Map for such area from "low density residential uses" to "limited redevelopment with specific guidelines"; and

 

WHEREAS, public notice of a hearing before the City Plan Commission was published on August 18, 1997; and

 

WHEREAS, the City Plan Commission considered such amendment to the Proposed Land Use Plan and Map on September 16, 1997; and

 

WHEREAS, after all interested persons were given an opportunity to present testimony, the City Plan Commission did on September 16, 1997, recommend approval of the proposed amendment to the Winchester Land Use and Development Plan; NOW, THEREFORE,

 

BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF KANSAS CITY:

 

Section A. That the Winchester Land Use and Development Plan is hereby amended as to the Proposed Land Use Plan and Map for that area generally located at the northwest corner of 66th Street and Winchester Avenue by changing the proposed recommended land use designation from "low density residential uses" to "limited redevelopment with specific guidelines", as provided on the Proposed Land Use Plan and Map, attached hereto and incorporated herein by reference.

 

Section B. That the Council finds and declares that before taking any action on the proposed amendment hereinabove, all public notices and hearings required by law have been given and had.
