RESOLUTION NO. 160270
Congratulating the employees of
the City of Kansas City, Missouri on their achievements in the 2015 Kansas City
Corporate Challenge (KCCC) and supporting the employee participants of the 2016
Kansas City Corporate Challenge.
WHEREAS the City
of Kansas City, Missouri doubled their enrollment from 260 in 2014 to 521 in
2015 through several internal engagement efforts led by Colleen Doctorian and
Lisa Czubak of the City Communications Office and moved up four positions in
Division A from 2014 to 2015; and
WHEREAS, the
City of Kansas City, Missouri, was given the “Gimme A Cheer” award at the 2015
Kickoff for their visible camaraderie; and
WHEREAS, the
City of Kansas City, Missouri, established Spirit Teams to cheer on the City of
KCMO’s competitors and was awarded the KCCC “Spirit Award”; and
WHEREAS, the
City of Kansas City, Missouri, recognized our 2015 medal winners! 200-Yard
Freestyle: Margaret Scherschel, City Manager’s Office (gold), Track 400M:
Andrew Fleming, Parks & Recreation (silver), 100-Yard Individual Medley:
Sean Hennessy, Water Services (bronze), 50-Yard Backstroke: Sean Hennessy,
Water Services (bronze), 50-Yard Butterfly: Anita Simmons, Public Works retiree
(bronze), 50-Yard Freestyle: Sean Hennessy, Water Services (bronze), Half
Marathon: Timothy Bond, Human Resources (bronze); and
WHEREAS, the
City of Kansas City, Missouri’s company coordinator of 17 years, Yvette Tunley,
was awarded the prestigious 2015 Alex George Award, for athletic ability,
overcoming obstacles in performing athletic events, dedication to KCCC in
organizing/promoting the events, selflessness in dealings with KCCC, and
sportsmanship to other competitors/persons involved with the Games; and
WHEREAS, the
City of Kansas City, Missouri, celebrates 25 years of participation, fitness
and competition in the 2016 KCCC; and
NOW, THEREFORE,
BE IT RESOLVED
BY THE COUNCIL OF KANSAS CITY:
That the Mayor
and Council hereby express their support for the employees of the City of
Kansas City, Missouri’s 2016 and 2015 KCCC teams; and
BE IT FURTHER
RESOLVED that this Resolution be spread upon the Minutes of the Council in
testimony thereof and a copy hereof be presented to 2015 Kansas City Corporate
Challenge team KCMO and wishing success in the year 2016 competitions.
