RESOLUTION NO. 150442
Amending the Country Club Area
Plan by changing the recommended land use on about 0.5 acre, generally located
on the south side of W. 48th Street between J.C. Nichols Pkwy and Main Street,
from Office to Mixed Use Neighborhood. (260-S-10).
WHEREAS, on
February 20, 2014, the City Council by Resolution No. 140106 amended the
Country Club Area Plan, by incorporating the Waldo District Streetscape
Enhancement Plan as the guide for streetscape design within the established
boundaries of the Waldo CID, primarily focused along Wornall Road from just
north of Gregory Boulevard to just south of 85th Street, and along Gregory
Boulevard from just west of Wornall Road to just east of Oak Street; and
WHEREAS, on
August 28, 1980, the City Council by Resolution No. 51866 adopted the Country
Club Area Plan as a guide for development and redevelopment of that area
bounded by Volker Boulevard and Ward Parkway on the north, State Line on the
west, Gregory Boulevard on the south and Troost Avenue from Gregory Boulevard
to 63rd Street and by Oak Street from 63rd Street to Volker Boulevard on the
east; and
WHEREAS, said
Country Club Area Plan was amended on December 23, 1981, through the adoption
of Resolution No. 53516, was amended on February 13, 1987, through the adoption
of Resolution No. 60437; was amended on June 1, 1989, through the adoption of
Committee Substitute for Resolution No. 63220; was amended on May 23, 1991,
through the adoption of Resolution No. 910195; was amended on June 8, 2000,
through the adoption of Resolution No. 000629; and was further amended on
August 1, 2013, through the adoption of Resolution No. 130518; and
WHEREAS, after
all interested persons were given an opportunity to present testimony, the City
Plan Commission did on May 19, 2015, recommend approval of the proposed
amendment to the Country Club Area Plan with conditions; NOW, THEREFORE,
BE IT RESOLVED
BY THE COUNCIL OF KANSAS CITY:
Section A. That
the Country Club Area Plan is hereby amended by changing the recommended land
use on about 0.5 acres, generally located on the south side of W. 48th Street between J.C. Nichols Parkway and Main Street, from
Office to Mixed Use Neighborhood.
Section B. That
the amendment to the Country Club Area Plan is consistent and complies with the
FOCUS Kansas City Plan adopted on October 30, 1997, by Committee Substitute for
Resolution No. 971268, and is adopted as a supplement to the FOCUS Kansas City
Plan.
Section C. That
the Council finds and declares that before taking any action on the proposed
area plan amendment hereinabove, all public notices have been given and
hearings have been held as required by law.
