ORDINANCE NO. 970784
Authorizing the Director of Health to execute two month
extensions on three contracts with St. Luke's Hospital, Truman Medical Center
and Planned Parenthood of Mid-Missouri and Eastern Kansas to provide
alternative to abortion services in a total amount of $42,001.00.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF KANSAS CITY:
Section 1. That an amendment to a contract between
Kansas City, acting through its Director of Health, and St. Luke's Hospital,
acting through its officer of executory authority, to extend the date of the
contract by two months, from May 1, 1997 to June 30, 1997, and to increase the
amount of the contract by $13,334.00, from $26,666.00 to $40,000.00, to provide
alternative to abortion services, is hereby authorized. A copy of the amended
contract, in substantial form, is attached hereto and made a part hereof by
reference.
Section 2. That an amendment to a contract between
Kansas City, acting through its Director of Health, and Truman Medical Center,
acting through its officer of executory authority, to extend the date of the
contract by two months, from May 1, 1997 to June 30, 1997, and to increase the
amount of the contract by $13,667.00, from $27,333.00 to $41,000.00, to provide
alternative to abortion services, is hereby authorized. A copy of the amended
contract, in substantial form, is attached hereto and made a part hereof by
reference.
Section 3. That an amendment to a contract between
Kansas City, acting through its Director of Health, and Planned Parenthood of
Mid-Missouri and Eastern Kansas, acting through its officer of executory
authority, to extend the date of the contract by two months, from May 1, 1997
to June 30, 1997, and to increase the amount of the contract by $15,000.00,
from $30,000.00 to $45,000.00, to provide alternative to abortion services, is
hereby authorized. A copy of the amended contract, in substantial form, is
attached hereto and made a part hereof by reference.

I hereby certify that there is a balance, otherwise
unencumbered, to the credit of the appropriation to which the foregoing
expenditure is to be charged, and a cash balance, otherwise unencumbered, in
the treasury, to the credit of the fund from which payment is to be made, each
sufficient to meet the obligation hereby incurred.
