ORDINANCE NO. 160673

Authorizing the Fire Chief to execute, on behalf of the City of Kansas City, Missouri, an agreement with the City of North Kansas City, Missouri, to provide mutual assistance when significant emergency circumstances exist and to serve as the primary dispatch center for the North Kansas City Fire Department.

WHEREAS, the law of the State of Missouri authorizes the City of Kansas City to enter into agreements with political subdivisions of Missouri and other states for mutual aid for significant emergencies; and

WHEREAS, the City of Kansas City, Missouri, and the City of North Kansas City, Missouri, desire an agreement that would provide their respective cities with the benefits of mutual aid for significant emergencies and for the Kansas City Fire Department to serve as the primary dispatch center for the North Kansas City Fire Department; NOW, THEREFORE,

BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF KANSAS CITY:

Section 1. That the Fire Chief is hereby authorized to execute an agreement with the City of North Kansas City, Missouri, for mutual aid to be provided when significant emergency circumstances exist and for the Fire Department to serve as the primary dispatch center for the North Kansas City Fire Department. A copy of said proposed agreement is attached hereto and made a part hereof.
