RESOLUTION NO. 180321

 

Declaring May 9, 2018, as the 25th celebration of Public Employee Recognition Day.

 

WHEREAS, Public Employee Recognition Day (PERD) was created in 1985 to honor individuals who serve America as federal, state and local government employees. PERD recognizes employees whose outstanding performances have served as an inspiration to others and a credit to city service; and

 

WHEREAS, this year, 10 employees in 10 City departments are recognized for their outstanding work and dedication to the City of Kansas City, Missouri; and

  

WHEREAS, this year we recognize Marilyn Reiley, Executive Assistant, with Public Works for the category of Administrative Professional, Megan Sartin, Offender Accountability Coordinator, with Municipal Court for the category of Clerical Support, Terrance Williams, Administrative Officer, with Parks and Recreation for the category of Community Service, Justin Meyer, Deputy Director of Aviation, for the category of Leadership, Gina English, Social Services Coordinator, with the Kansas City Police Department for the category of Public Safety, the Sales and Event Services team with Conventions and Entertainment for the category of Team, Lesha Dennis, Epidemiology Specialist, with the Health Department for the category of Technical, Wayne Alan Ashurst, Illegal Dumping Investigator, with Neighborhood and Housing Services for the category of Trade or Craft, Nathan Spence, Firefighter, with the Kansas City Fire Department for the category of Valor, Patricia Harris, Taxpayer Specialist, with Finance for the category of Diversity; NOW, THEREFORE,

 

BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF KANSAS CITY:

 

That the Mayor and Council hereby declare May 9, 2018, as the 25th celebration of Public Employee Recognition Day; and

 

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that this Resolution be spread upon the Minutes of the Council in testimony thereof and that a copy hereof be presented to the Kansas City Federal Executive Board, with the Mayor and Council recognizing the work of all public employees working for the City of Kansas City, Missouri.
