ORDINANCE NO. 950768

Authorizing agreements with the Good Samaritan Project, Inc., to provide emergency assistance services, emotional and physical support to persons with HIV, for a period of one year, for which the City will provide $129,487.00 in previously appropriated funds.

BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF KANSAS CITY:

Section 1. That an agreement between Kansas City and the Good Samaritan Project, Inc., to provide sensitive and effective emergency assistance services to persons with Human Immunodeficiency Virus, in amount not to exceed $104,487.00, for the period April 1, 1995 through March 31, 1996, from funds previously appropriated in Account No. 96-273-050-2446-B, is hereby authorized. A copy of the agreement is attached hereto and made a part hereof by reference.

Section 2. That an agreement between Kansas City and the Good Samaritan Project, Inc., to provide emotional and physical support to persons who are infected with the Human Immunodeficiency Virus, in an amount not to exceed $25,000.00, for the period of April 1, 1995 to March 31, 1996, from funds previously appropriated in Account No. 96-273-050-2446-B, is hereby authorized. A copy of the agreement is attached hereto and made a part hereof by reference.

I hereby certify that there is a balance, otherwise unencumbered, to the credit of the appropriation to which the foregoing expenditure is to be charged, and a cash balance, otherwise unencumbered, in the treasury, to the credit of the fund from which payment is to be made, each sufficient to meet the obligation hereby incurred.
