RESOLUTION NO. 920633

 

On the retirement of Bernard I. Penner, Administrative Officer II, Fire Department.

 

WHEREAS, Bernard I. Penner, Fire Department, has announced his retirement from the City service effective May 31, 1992, after 34 years of faithful and loyal service to Kansas City; and

 

WHEREAS, Mr. Penner's retirement will mark the culmination of his tenure as a City employee in positions of increasing responsibility and trust in the Fire Department; and

 

WHEREAS, his proficiency, commitment and dedication to the City service are evidenced by his promotions from Administrative Analyst I to Administrative Officer II; and

 

WHEREAS, Mr. Penner's devotion to his official duties, his hard-working and dependable good nature and loyalty have contributed to positive working relationships under many administrations and with his supervisors, subordinates, fellow employees, and the public alike; NOW, THEREFORE,

 

BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF KANSAS CITY:

 

That the Mayor and Council hereby express their sincere appreciation, and that of the people of Kansas City, to Bernard I. Penner on the eve of his retirement, for his years of dedicated service to the people and government of Kansas City in performing a vital service for the government and governed; and

 

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that this Resolution be spread upon the Minutes of the Council in testimony thereof and that a copy hereof be presented to him in token of the hearty best wishes of the Mayor and Council for a continuation, in his retirement years, of excellent health, and that he may enjoy many happy, healthful and rewarding years in his richly merited retirement.
