ORDINANCE NO. 940106

 

Authorizing the Director of Health to enter into a contract with the Good Samaritan Project to provide transportion services to persons with HIV from December 21, 1993 to March 31, 1995, for which the City will provide $51,733.00 in previously appropriated funds and recognizing an emergency.

 

BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF KANSAS CITY:

 

Section 1. That the Director of Health is hereby authorized to enter into a contract with the Good Samaritan Project, to provide sensitive and effective transportationion services to persons with HIV+/PLWA clients, for the period December 21, 1993 to March 31, 1995, for which the City will provide $51,733.00 in funds previously appropriated in Account No. 94-273-050-2440B by Ordinance No. 940052. A copy of said agreement is attached hereto and made a part hereof by reference.

 

Section 2. That this ordinance, making provision for the expenditure of funds in connection with the preservation of the public health, is recognized as an emergency measure within the provisions of Article II, Section 15 of the Charter of Kansas City, Missouri, and shall take effect immediately upon passage.

I hereby certify that there is a balance, otherwise unencumbered, to the credit of the appropriation to which the foregoing expenditure is to be charged, and a cash balance, otherwise unencumbered, in the treasury, to the credit of the fund from which payment is to be made, each sufficient to meet the obligation hereby incurred.
