RESOLUTION NO. 020081
Consenting
and granting permission to the implementation by Jackson County, Missouri of
the Solar Woods/Solar Stone Redevelopment Plan located partially within the
corporate boundaries of the City of Kansas City, Missouri.
WHEREAS,
the Jackson County Legislature has formed a Tax Increment Financing Commission
for the furtherance of economic development in areas of Jackson County,
Missouri (County) that are blighted, conservation districts or economic
development areas under Missouris tax increment financing law; and
WHEREAS,
the Jackson County, Missouri Tax Increment Financing Commission (TIF
Commission) has expressed an interest in the development of the tax increment
financing projects for certain areas of the County to foster economic
development; and
WHEREAS,
the City consented to a Jackson County Tax Increment Financing project in 1991
involving the same property but a new plan has been presented to the TIF
Commission; and
WHEREAS,
the TIF Commission will hold a public hearing on adoption of a tax increment
financing plan for the Solar Woods/Solar Stone Redevelopment Area; and
WHEREAS,
Section 99.815, RSMo, requires that the County receive the City Councils
permission to implement a tax increment financing project within the corporate
boundaries of the City; NOW, THEREFORE,
BE
IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF KANSAS CITY:
That
the Mayor and Council hereby consent and grant permission for the Solar
Woods/Solar Stone Redevelopment Plan and all related tax increment financing
projects now or hereafter approved by Jackson County in the proposed
Redevelopment Area described on Exhibit A and generally located east of
Interstate 435, north of Truman Road (with only approximately 2.90 acres south
of Truman), west of Blue Ridge Boulevard, and south of Ninth Street (with only
14.70 acres north of Ninth Street) as there is potential for development that
can be realized in the near future with provision of proper infrastructure.
