ORDINANCE NO. 141047

 

Authorizing the acceptance of a $126,700.00 grant from and a contract with the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development for the purpose of investigating discrimination complaints in housing.

 

BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF KANSAS CITY:

 

Section 1. That the Director of the Human Relations Department is hereby authorized to accept a $126,700.00 grant from the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (“HUD”) for the purpose of investigating discrimination complaints in housing.

 

Section 2. That the Director of the Human Relations Department is hereby authorized to execute a $126,700.00 contract with HUD to investigate discrimination complaints in housing. A copy of the contract is on file in the office of the Director of the Human Relations Department.

 

Section 3. That the Director of the Human Relations Department can spend up to $126,700.00 from the funds previously appropriated to Account No. 15-1000-545200-G54FHAP14 for the contract with HUD.

 

Section 4. That the Director of the Human Relations Department is designated as requisitioning authority for Account No. 15-1000-545200.

I hereby certify that there is a balance, otherwise unencumbered, to the credit of the appropriation to which the foregoing expenditure is to be charged, and a cash balance, otherwise unencumbered, in the treasury, to the credit of the fund from which payment is to be made, each sufficient to meet the obligation hereby incurred.
