ORDINANCE NO. 150478

 

Authorizing the Director of Public Works to enter into a Cooperative Agreement with the Tax Increment Financing Commission for streetscape improvements along 20th Street from Southwest Boulevard to Grand; estimating revenue in the amount of $800,000.00 in the Capital Improvements Fund; appropriating that amount to the 20th Street Streetscape account; authorizing a contract with Musselman & Hall Contractors for approximately $2,896,000.00 for the 20th Street Streetscape project; authorizing a maximum expenditure of approximately $3,216,000.00; and recognizing this ordinance as having an accelerated effective date.

 

BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF KANSAS CITY:

 

Section 1. That the Director of Public Works is hereby authorized to execute a Cooperative Agreement with the Tax Increment Financing Commission in the amount of $800,000.00 for funding of certain streetscape improvements along 20th Street from Southwest Boulevard to Grand.

 

Section 2. That revenueis hereby estimated in the following amount in the following account of the Capital Improvements Fund:

 

16-3090-890001-477777-64010009 20th Street Streetscape $800,000.00

 

Section 3. That the appropriation in the following account of the Capital Improvements Fund is hereby increased by the following amount:

 

16-3090-898401-B-64010009 20th Street Streetscape $800,000.00

 

Section 4. That the Director of Public Works is hereby authorized to execute a $2,895,530.00 contract with Musselman & Hall Contractors for construction of Project No. 64010009, 20th Street Streetscape, from funds hereby and previously appropriated to the following accounts:

 

16-3090-898401-B-64010009 20th Street Streetscape $1,498,957.00

AL-3333-897731-B-64010009 20th Street Streetscape 596,573.00

AL-3432-898401-B-64010009 20th Street Streetscape 800,000.00

TOTAL $2,895,530.00

 

A copy of the contract is on file in the Public Works Department and is incorporated herein by reference.

 

Section 5. That the Director of Public Works is authorized to expend up to the sum of $3,215,720.00 from Account Nos. 16-3090-898401-B, AL-3333-897731-B, and AL-3432-898401-B to satisfy the costs of this contract.

 

Section 6. That this ordinance, relating to the design, repair, maintenance or construction of a public improvement, is recognized as an ordinance with an accelerated effective date as provided by Section 503(a)(3)(D) of the City Charter and shall take effect in accordance with Section 503, City Charter.

I hereby certify that there is a balance, otherwise unencumbered, to the credit of the appropriation to which the foregoing expenditure is to be charged, and a cash balance, otherwise unencumbered, in the treasury, to the credit of the fund from which payment is to be made, each sufficient to meet the obligation hereby incurred.
