ORDINANCE NO. 991093
Authorizing
the purchase of property in the area south of 51st Street and east of Phelps
Road in Kansas City, Jackson County; authorizing acceptance of the deed to said
property; and authorize expenditure of previously appropriated funds in the
amount of $155,000.00.

IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF KANSAS CITY:
Section
1. That the Water Services Department is hereby authorized to purchase
property in the area south of 51st Street and east of Phelps Road in Kansas
City, Jackson County, for the Jackson-Cass Regional Transmission Main, East
Terminal site. The legal description of the property to be purchased is as
follows:
The West 15 acres of the North Half of the Northwest
Quarter of the Northeast Quarter of Section 36, Township 49, Range 32, and;
also that part of the Northeast Quarter of the Northwest Quarter of Section 36,
Township 49, Range 32, described as follows: Beginning at a point on the east
line of said Quarter Quarter Section, 396 feet south of the northeast corner
thereof; thence south along said east line to the southeast corner of the
Northeast Quarter of the Northeast Quarter of the Northwest Quarter; thence
west 363.03 feet to the center of Phelps Road; thence northwesterly along the
center of said road to a point due west of the place of beginning; thence east
to the point of beginning, EXCEPT that part in Phelps Road, all being in Kansas
City, Jackson County, Missouri.
Section
2. That the Director of Water Services is hereby authorized to exercise the
Option to Purchase, accept the deed and expend up to the sum of $155,000.00
from funds previously appropriated to the following account for the purchase of
the above-referenced property.

hereby certify that there is a balance, otherwise unencumbered, to the credit
of the appropriation to which the foregoing expenditure is to be charged, and a
cash balance, otherwise unencumbered, in the treasury, to the credit of the
fund from which payment is to be made, each sufficient to meet the obligation
hereby incurred.
