RESOLUTION NO. 021500

 

Adopting the Main Street Corridor Land Use and Development Plan as a guide for the future development and redevelopment for the area generally bounded by Pershing Road on the north, 47th Street on the south, Gillham Road on the east and Broadway Boulevard on the west.

 

WHEREAS, after review by the City Development Department it has been deemed appropriate to adopt the Main Street Corridor Land Use and Development Plan as a guide for the future development and redevelopment for the area generally bounded by Pershing Road on the north, 47th Street on the south, Gillham Road on the east and Broadway Boulevard on the west; and

 

WHEREAS, public notice of the hearing on the Main Street Corridor Land Use and Development Plan before the City Plan Commission was published on November 18, 2002; and

 

WHEREAS, after all interested persons were given an opportunity to present testimony, the City Plan Commission considered and recommended adoption of the Main Street Corridor Land Use and Development Plan on December 3, 2002; NOW, THEREFORE,

 

BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF KANSAS CITY:

 

Section A. That the Main Street Corridor Land Use and Development Plan is hereby adopted as a guide for the future development and redevelopment for that area generally bounded by Pershing Road on the north, 47th Street on the south, Gillham Road on the east and Broadway Boulevard on the west. A copy of the Main Street Corridor Land Use and Development Plan is attached hereto, in substantial form, and is hereby approved.

 

Section B. That the Main Street Corridor Land Use and Development Plan is consistent and complies with the FOCUS Kansas City Plan, adopted on October 30, 1997, by Committee Substitute for Resolution No. 971268, and is adopted as a supplement to the FOCUS Kansas City Plan.

 

Section C. That the Council finds and declares that before taking any action on the proposed Main Street Corridor Land Use and Development Plan hereinabove, all public notices have been given and hearings have been had as required by law.
