RESOLUTION NO. 141066

 

Honoring Donnell Thomas on his retirement from the City of Kansas City, Missouri after 26 years and 6 months of dedicated service.

 

WHEREAS, Donnell Thomas began his career with the City on June 6, 1988, working as a Maintenance Worker in the Public Works Department; and

 

WHEREAS, Donnell Thomas also worked as an Equipment Operator, Labor Leader and was promoted to General Supervisor in 2000 and was responsible for supervising Public Works’ night shift from 2000-2004; and

 

WHEREAS, prior to working for the City, Donnell Thomas retired from the United States Air Force where he achieved the rank of Master Sergeant; and

 

WHEREAS, while serving our country, Donnell Thomas travelled to Italy, Spain, Honduras and England; and

 

WHEREAS, Donnell Thomas looks forward to spending quality time with his wife, four children and grandchildren and to seeing more of the world; and

 

WHEREAS, December 31, 2014, will mark the last day of Donnell Thomas’ career with the City of Kansas City, Missouri; NOW, THEREFORE,

 

BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF KANSAS CITY;

 

That the Mayor and Council hereby extend to Donnell Thomas, on the occasion of his retirement from City service, the heartiest best wishes for his future, together with appreciation for his 26 years and 6 months of dedicated and devoted service to the citizens of this great City of Kansas City, Missouri; and

 

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that this Resolution then be spread upon the Minutes of the Council in testimony thereof and that a copy hereof be presented to Donnell Thomas in token of the Mayor and Council’s respect and high regard and their best wishes for the long and happy retirement which he so richly deserves.
