RESOLUTION NO. 050765

 

Congratulating the Silver Haired City Council on their 25th Year Anniversary.

 

WHEREAS, by Resolution No. 49838, the City Council of Kansas City created a Silver Haired Session of the City Council to advise the Mayor and Council of Kansas City on matters of concern to the senior citizen population of the City and

 

WHEREAS, Kansas City became the first City in the nation to draw upon the wisdom and experience of its elder citizens by convening a Silver Haired City Council to identify community problems and suggest solutions within a simulation of a form and structure of its local government; and

 

WHEREAS the Silver Haired Council has taken an active role in rendering advice and recommendations to the Mayor and Council of Kansas City; and

 

WHEREAS, the Council recognizes and appreciates the contribution of the wisdom and experience of the Silver Haired City Council and desires to maintain and improve communications with the senior citizens of the City; NOW, THEREFORE,

 

BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF KANSAS CITY:

 

That the Mayor and Council hereby congratulates the Silver Haired City Council on their 25th year anniversary; and

 

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that this Resolution be spread upon the Minutes of the Council in testimony thereof and that copies hereof be presented to Mayor Pro Tem Norine Accurso, Wanda Bysfield, Kay Cooper, Sue Dance, Dorothy Alexander, Irene Pasternak, Paul Lillig, Romaine Green, Turner Davis, and George Hicks in appreciation by the Mayor and Council for their loyal and dedicated service on behalf of the senior citizens of Kansas City, Missouri.
