ORDINANCE NO. 060789
Reducing an appropriation in the
amount of $20,000.00 in the General Fund and appropriating it to the State
Lobbyist account in the General Fund; and authorizing the City Manager to
execute a contract with Gamble & Schlemeier, Ltd. for State lobbying services
for a two year term beginning August 1, 2006, in the amount of $196,685.00 for the first year from previously appropriated funds, and $181,626.00 for the second
year, contingent upon the appropriation of funds for the second year.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE
COUNCIL OF KANSAS CITY:
Section 1. That
an appropriation in the General Fund is hereby reduced by the following amount:
07-1000-131506-B Outside
Attorney Consulting $20,000.00
Section 2. That
an appropriation in the General Fund is hereby re-estimated in the following
additional amount:
07-1000-011600-B State
Lobbyist $20,000.00
Section 3. That
the City Manager is authorized to execute an agreement with Gamble &
Schlemeier, Ltd. for the period August 1, 2006 through July 31, 2008 in an amount not to exceed $196,685.00 for the first year to be paid from funds
previously appropriated to Account No. 07-1000-011600-B, and in an amount not
to exceed $181,626.00 for the second year contingent upon the appropriation of
funds by the City Council. The agreement shall be in a form substantially as
Exhibit 1 attached to and incorporated into this ordinance.

I hereby certify
that there is a balance, otherwise unencumbered, to the credit of the
appropriation to which the foregoing expenditure is to be charged, and a cash
balance, otherwise unencumbered, in the treasury, to the credit of the fund
from which payment is to be made, each sufficient to meet the obligation hereby
incurred.
